    This workbook is a great resource for perfectionism with practical examples and exercises for discovering why many of us suffer from this issue, how to recognize the signs of being overly critical of ourselves, and how to make peace with our imperfections. Not filled with a lot of fluff, it gets right to the point with practical advice.

    This book is packed with practical, real insight for us perfectionists. Each chapter adds another layer of insight. The questions and exercises help apply the principles. But be careful and don't try to do each exercise perfectly or you won't get through the whole work book :-) I have learned a lot about myself by going through this workbook, and I'm learning to accept and enjoy being imperfect!

    Perhaps the most helpful thing I've encountered as a lifelong perfectionist-procastinator-etc. I was expecting to roll my eyes and thumb through but it's truly given me some good language and tools, and some things to deeply consider about where and how my time goes. Highly recommended, and big thanks to Sharon Martin for giving me a kind shove in a better direction.

    This workbook is hard work, but worth it. I was diagnosed with perfectionism a few months ago and this book has been a helpful counterpart to my therapy. It addresses every aspect from how it began to how it effects your life now and how to overcome it. It is well worth it if you're honest and take the time to answer the questions.

    I was diagnosed with GAD and panic disorder and am currently on medication to control my symptoms. I was seeing a therapist but had to stop for financial reasons. Many of the things I discussed with my therapist are right here in this workbook for a fraction of the cost of a therapy session AND it includes exercises to practice the ideas in it. While I agree that this would be more helpful with the assistance of a licensed therapist, this is incredibly useful on its own. Almost as good as having a therapist in your home. Not surprising though considering the author has her own practice.

    My only criticism is that the format for the Kindle version is not the most convenient to work on since AFAIK I cannot type into the tables or worksheets. Iā€™ve had to screenshot the exercises and use markup or another app to be able to type/write onto the worksheets. This is more an issue with Kindle and its app though. It was only a minor inconvenience to me to figure out a workaround since Iā€™m decently tech savvy.

    As a "recovering" perfectionist and fellow therapist, I find this workbook incredibly helpful for myself and my clients. I am personally obsessed with workbooks because they allow people to take their own pace and make space to think about these complex subjects to the individual issues at hand. The layout makes sense, and the material builds on itself-which makes doing deep work a bit more digestible. The questions are thought provoking and Sharon provides the right amount of explanation with exercises. This has become a great resource for my clients, friends, and family.

    I love this workbook! Sharon Martin covers everything from how perfectionism develops to strategies for self-compassion. Her step-by-step exercises allow the reader to go at their own pace when working through the chapters, or jump in to areas that might need particular attention. I've already given away one copy and will continue to recommend it to my clients who struggle with perfectionism and the anxiety it creates!

    This is a wonderful book in workbook format. I found it to be very well written, and most importantly, accessible to the average person. You don't have to be a professional to understand it, although it is based on up-to-date research and the author's many years of experience as a psychotherapist. It is well organized and each chapter, with exercises, flows smoothly into the next. It gently expands your ideas about perfectionism and offers real-life examples that anyone can relate to. I'm just halfway through, but am excited to keep going. I feel grateful to Sharon Martin for giving us this resource!

    I absolutely LOVED this book. I knew I had some tendencies towards perfectionism but this book explains in detail the signs and symptoms that I would have missed otherwise. It's such a gentle approach that I help me to understand myself in a deeper way. I instantly related to the personal examples and found the exercises very easy and though provoking. As a therapist, I have already recommended this book to several clients ( and friends ) for those struggling with high expectations and people pleasing behaviors. This is a must read for anyone seeking positive change from issues like low self-esteem, perfectionism, difficulty letting go, self-forgiveness, adult children of alcoholic issues and codependency. Such a wonderful contribution to our field! Thank you Sharon!
